Cloud Licenses and Graphisoft ID Inaccessible

Anyone else having issues accessing Archicad this afternoon? All of our users have been locked out with unavailable licenses and it seems Graphisoft ID and License Manager websites are down, I suspect the two are linked. Interested to understand how widespread an issue this is.

 

It happens occasionally and is unbelievably disruptive. I think Graphisoft need to find a way of licenses checking less frequently or knowing the system is down so it won't lock Archicad out straightaway and give time for the systems to be brought back online.

We just moved to collaborate and had left the old key we could use. 

BUT! we also were testing Bimcloud SaaS with a project and while regular users could just restart AC & automatically reserve the softkey license, that project lost the license & access to bimcloud at the same time and couldn’t save the work.

Why is the cloud license needs constant checks?
Why are the licensing platform & bimcloud platform hosted together?

 

In any case, this incident solved our question if Bimcloud SaaS is worth using.

Ha! I bet.... Funny we are currently in the process of evaluating SaaS and were considering moving a very large project over to it for testing. We currently have I guess about 100 project folders on our in house BIM server and I have no idea how many files. It runs fine but the extra features in BIMcloud SaaS that are not available with the in house version are tempting. We are obviously going to reevaluating our position on this as well.

 

My main grips is with SaaS you need a full seat to manage the admin CP. IT does not use ArchiCAD and that seems like a waste of funds. So yeah sometimes IT can't get in if the floating seats are all in use.  

Well yeah thanks to them for getting it back up but it shouldn’t have gone down in the first place. Believe me I know all to well stuff happens but when you have your clients move to the cloud the solution should be rock solid. I know it’s happens to the big players as well but with GRAPHISOFT it feels like some of this is profit driven and maybe not quite ready for prime time. There have been a lot of changes in management and policy positions over the last few years and that can hurt trust. I like the product in many ways and our sales rep is good but I have my reservations. For my studio they need their reservations to work 😉

On Wednesday, May 7, between 4:45 PM and 5:45 PM CEST, a temporary outage affected the Graphisoft ID authentication service.

The question is whether these "permanent fixes" include redundancy or a change to the authentication frequency.

We can hope for both? The quick fix I would think would be to change the auth frequency. 

 

Honestly I am waiting to see if we get full disclosure as to what caused the outage. 

Still can't access as of Tuesday morning 13 May (Australia). Says I have no key but I do - help please!

This is not the best place to ask for help with that. Email Graphisoft support directly. Not sure what the email is for Aussies as here it is support.na@graphisoft.com but even they could at least point you in the right direction.
