. . . The only thing is that most icons are not yet updated for retina displays.
So not just quite not ready for 27" iMac Retina then? Thats what it sounds like.

AC19 works well on the 27" 5k iMac. Just that most icon appear more pixelated, rather than crisp on the display.

Thanks, finally after one week I got an answer to my retina question.

Do they start from scratch on every new release?

Why don't they just fix the last version and make sure that what ever is new works with that ?

with the 19 version , it seems that some plugins features are now included in ArchiCAD : (cloud point _ cadimage and Cigraph ) paint surface (archimaterial from Cigraph) . That is interesting as ArchiCAD must have been reworked to include them with more speed I think, hence the display and speed improvement that I see more a consequence than a feature to display

Eventhought they could have been pushed further, it's a good news. ( ie a cloud point as in revit with recognisation of points and even architectural elements. Archimaterial with a total uvmapping review and drag&drop extended to the material creation dialogue instead of the long import process)

As for the tab feature, some productivity tools would have been more welcomed than putting the speed as a main feature ( although I'm more careful with marketing annoucements ) ; and why some objects enhancements have the same hype as those of features ( especially when videos are even done to explain such basic objects ) ?

The improved performance in switching between windows is awesome.
What about the rebuild speed when zooming in and out of large project floor plans sections window etc. Has it been also improved?

What about Mac RETINA displays?
I have gone to the Apple store and downloaded ArchiCAD on their computer so I can take a look it and see what it looks like, and how it performs on their equipment. Perhaps a dealer near you would let you do the same thing. ?

Also, when ever I go to a place where they are selling computers and have them up and running I go down the row and make sure all the screens are showing http://www.graphisoft.com/archicad/ and I set that as the default home page.

Yup I have done the same at the Yonkers Apple Store they are very willing to help for the most part

Also instead of downloading it I had it on a USB stick
I may be on a watch list at Best Buy.
