attempting to use the adjust command on multiple beams to lengthen to an exterior wall. the beam elements keep disappearing after selecting an edge or drawing a line.

Are they sloped? If so, they might be disappearing as the pivot side changes elevation.

they are on the same plane. i have been using the marquee tool to modify elements, such as this, but have not found a solution. see example video....

It should be working just fine.
Try selecting just one or two beams and try again.
What is that selecting at the bottom of the screen.
Maybe that is affecting the adjust?
Barry.

when i do a CMD Z, to get back to where i started or undo, for some odd reason it shows the dimension as selected? however when i initially selected the elements and initiated the command sequence it is not part of the modification process. it only appears as selected after the CMD Z.
tried selecting 3 then 2, then 1 and even if i select 1 it disappears. it is a complex floor joist that i created and wonder if there is something in the process i messed up. i drew some temp. beams and had no problem running the adjust command.

I can't see anything wrong with your complex profile.
I also tried with a complex profile and it works just fine.
But if you say it works OK with other beams or other complex profiles, then there must be a problem with just that profile.
What that would, be I can't say unfortunately.
Barry.

Try to create a new profile: copy the elements from the old one and past them into the new profile > apply the new profile to all beams.
This method once helped with a "broken profile." hope it will work with you
