Align 3D Texture. It always worked in ACAD 16. Now in 17 (same .pln updated to 17) it no longer works.

Yes it does. Can you be more specific?
Remember that there were changes on how materials and surfaces behave in 17. For example check if you are using, Legacy Intersection for Model, or your Building Material settings or your Surface overrides.
