Area values only showing up in square inches, despite my pref for square feet.

This is a weird one. I've checked a million times in Working Units that I have selected for Area values to be given in square feet. I've never done it any other way since version 4!! I've set the preference for square meters too, and no effect. In the info window, a fill's area tag, and I suppose all other places AC 23 is giving area values in square inches. The problem is project specific.

Can anyone tell me how to get it back to showing square feet?

There are 3 places you can set units.

Working units are for the inputs you enter while modelling.

Dimension units are those that you see on screen annotations (dimensions, fill areas).

Calculation units are those that you will see in the output of schedules.

I had the same issue. See image attached.Screenshot 2023-03-22 at 10.45.34 AM.png

When you change the 'Dimension' units,

Make sure you 'Store As' to one of the schemes.

Don't leave it as 'Custom'.

A bit of a cheat to save you having to type the scheme name.

Select the scheme you want to amend first - this sets the current values.

Press 'Rename' and copy the text for the name - then cancel.

Make the changes that you want.

"Store As' and to save you typing the name exactly, paste the copied text.

There really should be a 'Redefine' button.
