Custom Railing Panel

Hi, I’m having an issue with a custom railing panel on a staircase. It works correctly on the flat sections, but on the sloped section it does not follow the slope of the stairs. Is there a way to make the railing follow the staircase’s slope? Is this a possible thing to do?

Unfortunately not, because the custom Railing panel will not become parametric like that when you save it.

I am afraid you will have to save the sloping panels separately.

What do you mean by save the sloping panels separately. 

The only Idea I have come up with is using fills inside of an empty railing to look like the other railing. Below is what it looks like with fills.

I mean that you should model the panels as oblique parallelograms (or general parallelograms). Two sides are vertical, two are parallel to the slope of the Stair.

the railing (and stair, and curtain wall, and door, and window) tool is really only ideal for when "good enough" is the finish line. So for a specific design like this, I'd probably just use complex profiles, or morphs, or shells... 

too many times, I end up spending hours or even days to get the stair 'kind of close', when I could model using slabs/beams/walls/columns/roofs/morphs/shells in a few minutes.

detailed railings like this, I'd just figure out the repeating pattern length, model with beams, save one as an object for horizontal and one for sloping options each, and use the multiply command to place.
yeah, you could have a panel for horizontal and one for vertical... but there are going to be too many instances where it just doesnt clean up.
