Fill Question

I have an elevation set to Autorebuild Model with

A Wall that has the Model setting as Siding-04” H
On top of
A Slab that has the Model setting as Siding-04” H
On top of
A Wall that has the Model setting as Brick-Running Bond

To the right of that there is

A Wall that has the Model setting as Brick-Running Bond
On top of
A Slab that has the Model setting as Brick-Running Bond
On top of
A Wall that has the Model setting as Brick-Running Bond

When I draw a Fill, set at Cover Fill
With a Fill pattern, set at Solid Fill
And Cover Fill Pen, set at 2 0.20 mm / 0.57 Graphisoft Thin - Fill

The Fill covers all the Brick areas and the Slab with the siding but not the Wall with siding. Then if I change the color of Cover Fill Pen. It won’t cover any of the Fills It only changes color.

All the materials are stock ones.

Why does only that color cover the fills?
Why doesn’t it cover the siding?

Here is the screen shot. The blue arrow is original question. I was trying to see why the fill wouldn't cover the other fill.

The red arrow is what I was trying to draw freeze board

Also I was wondering if there was a way to not get the extra lines where the roofs come together The blue circle

I used Snagit for the screen shot is there something in Arcicad to do it?

Use Solid Element Operations to subtract the upper roof from the lower roof. It looks like you have 2 roof pieces occupying the same space.

I don't have an answer for the fill problem, but have you tried moving the cover fill to front? (Display Order > Bring to Front).

It does work if I bring to front. I was wondering if there was a setting I was missing so the siding would be covered. And why the color of the fill made a difference.

Brian:

The stacking order should be the way to use one element to cover another, so if you bring the fill to the top of the stacking order via Bring to Front, it should cover all other elements. The pen color should make no difference (it makes no difference on my machine). Some of your confusion may come from the Fill Category name. ArchiCAD provides three categories (Draft, Cover and Cut), but depending on the stacking order, a Cover fill might cover nothing (for example, if it was Sent to Back). In the Model View Options, each category of fill can have different display options for various Model View Option Combinations, so fills, depending on their category assignment, will display differently for various View settings.

I have a similar problem, except the issue only arises when i publish in DWG format. So cover fills are fine in AC, and then are transparent in AutoCAD.

I thought i had found the solution under Model View Options, by changing all background fill pens to match background. This solved the transparency issue with the fills, but then arbitrarily it seems, other lines in the DWG were also affected, so that some linework was not visible.

Has anyone else experienced this, and is there a solution?

Pardon my oversight - I just discovered that I can set the Fill background individually, for each fill object. Im sure this will fix my issue
