Is it possible to model a glass balustrade with spigots using the railing tool?

Can Posts sub-objects access the Panel sub-object parameters?

I am not sure.

I can't remember if I tried and failed or if I just never tried (it was a long time ago).

I don't think the post can get the panel parameters.

The railing tool 'calls' the panel and the posts (and the other parts), but we don't see the script of the entire rail, as it is the tool add-on (program code) that takes care of all of that.

But I don't think the individual parts can see the parameters of the other parts - I might be wrong.

this is amazing and exactly what i need. Can you please pass on more information or how you achieved this?

thankyou in advance

There are 2 ways to do it.

As mentioned in the message above, it is just a short height post with a base plate.

Or you can script a dedicated GDL post object, which I have shared in this post below ... https://community.graphisoft.com/t5/Modeling/How-to-model-glass-balustrade-with-spigots/m-p/622522/h...
