Log house joints

Hello!

I am working with log houses and I need to find a way to model correct joints to log walls (for example dovetail joint as show on the picture). How can I achieve this?dovetail joint.jpg

Operating system used: Windows 11

Hi,

depending on how accurate/specific you want the log wall intersection to be you can:

1. use the log wall option - directly from the wall settings. On one wall you can start with a full wall and the next one start with half log.

2. model the wall out of curtain wall (in this way you can have different profiles on the ends (where the intersection is) while still being able to have openings and even schedule each independent component

3. Use morph or segmented beam to define the geometry of the intersection and make just the corner joint a different element that aligns with a log wall made as per 1st point.

4. If you work often with this type of construction maybe a third party addon could prove useful:

I found this in a quick google search:

hope this helps.
