Agreed. There seems to be a host of interrelated external content and file linking issues in need of improvement—Teamwork, Modules, View/Drawing references across multiple files, probably others. That would also be the time to create the universal file type.
But I wonder if it would not be wise to "finish" some of the brave new features introduced in ArchiCAD 10 first.There will always be the tricky balance to be struck between fixing/improving existing features and adding new ones. The various requirements of progress, usability and marketing all compel this. I'm sure we'll be discussing this at much greater length in the near future.

I doubt that this is by design. I think it is more that it is a very complex issue to sort out in practice...Of course - I was kidding. GS is obviously biting this off in chewable chunks. I'm sure imporvements to Teamwork will see improvements to this type of file integration.
