Sorry could not edit my last post
Here is another picture where I see brick in lieu of what it should be. It should definitely not show brick.

You seem to have a surface override active in your wall settings.
The black/purple checker board pattern is because you have a texture image file used on the 'insulation | foam board' building material is missing from your loaded libraries.

Barry - I appreciate the answer/ Is there a reason stock deliver materials are delivered this way?

Hi Eric,
I am not sure what you mean by delivered this way.
The black/purple checker board appearance should not happen with default surfaces in the default template.
If you are not using a default template then make sure you have the library with the surface textures loaded.
The override of the wall surfaces is a setting you make yourself, and Archicad will remember your default settings if you change them.
I am pretty sure the defaults in the template are set to not override as default.

Given the naming style of the Surfaces varies, and the number of Composites you have, I would say that they are not "Stock"...

I understand how to fix it but this is a material delivered. Many of the material that are delivered are singular images but still the Brick - for example would never be shown on the edge unless you could guarantee the way it looked cut line a true wall.

You choose whether the wall has an override surface on the edge rather than showing the building materials the composite is made from.
It has nothing to do with the materials supplied int the template or any that you create.
