Hi,
we are trying to list on a schedule the area that partitions occupy in plan but including the area where we have a door and taking into account wall intersections. Any suggestions?
We can't find the right parameter in AC24 or AC25, the closest would be to use "Area (general)" but that excludes the door's area.
We have tried creating our own property and multiplying "end thickness of wall" x "length of reference wall" but it doesn't take into consideration the wall intersections (it double counts the area in the intersection).
We just found that in AC18 there was a parameter called "Area of wall" that is close to what we need but it seems to be gone? Sure, I tried to be as descriptive as possible but I guess the image helps. See attached below:
On the left you have the modelled partitions and on the right I have measured with red hatches what we are trying to list: the "partition plan area" (a projection of the area occupied but the walls).
On the schedule at the bottom you can see the results for the property "area" and for our custom property as described in my first message.

I found the correct results using the "Area" parameter in the schedule settings, as you can see in the images.
To double-check it, I created another fill schedule.
Could your share your schedule setting, so we can compare it?

I am not sure how you got the same areas, it seems that your wall area calculation is not considering the wall intersection? If they have the same lenght they shouldn't be both 0,20?) I think is just a coincidence they are matching, in the hatches the walls that are crossing have a reduction of 0,04 and on the walls the wall with the door has a reduction of 0,04). Can you double check with a smaller door please?

@Carlos Schwarz I double-checked, and that's what I found:
I made 5 walls, 5 x 0,20 m each, then I've 5 m2 in total.
I intersected 2 walls, and it was reduced 0,4 m2, that was correct.
3 different doors were placed and the result was still the same, what seems to fit your expectation, right?

You guys may be using different Archicad versions (Ac24 vs AC25).
If I recall correctly, Ac25 includes some new ways of calculating area and volume quantities in schedules. Could that be the difference?:

I think you may be right Laszlo as I was using AC24, but I have been playing a bit with those settings in AC25 and I didn't manage to get it right yet.
@Vinicius Guedes Yes, what you are showing is what I would like to achieve. Are you using AC25? can you share the calculations settings?

Hi all,
I still can't find the way to make the "area" behave like @Vinicius Guedes did, can anyone help? Here is a short video showing how the area of the doors is substracted (we wish it was not) and showing my Archicad version and the calculation settings:
