Protection Board ?

Not an ArchiCAD question I know, but perhaps someone knows what could be used for this.

I'd use a 9mm (3/8 inch) thick apiece of compressed fibre cement. Resistant to impact damage and moisture
Thanks sboydturner,

But what product is that? Will HardiePlank® Lap Siding work for that ?
Will it resist the moisture in the ground?

The protection board is usually concrete board like this http://www.durock.ca .

The protective coating would be a cementitious coating approved for applications over eps such as this http://styro.net/TuffIIFoamAndICFCoating.html

What the detail misses is a free-draining membrane or porous backfill should be located below the parging in frost areas to prevent frost heave damaging the coating.

Durock, Denshield, Hardiebacker... would be fine but they don't come in a size that is efficient for this purpose. Too much cutting and patching.
I was hoping for some kind of siding-sized product.
I am using 2" Foamular 250 XPS at that location so it think I will take the protection board out of the detail call for Sakrete parging directly on the rigid insulation.

Hi Steve, off topic, but wondering if you did the graphic in archicad. Maybe its an 18 functionality?

No. I didn't make that graphic, but I could if I wanted to. And I just might do it if I can get the final solution worked out the way the client would like it.

This is a link to the 2D details I am working on for a net-zero house. It is still a work in progress.

I get tired of drawing arrows to every little thing. If they don't know what they are looking at they don't need to know right?

I am going to start just pointing in the general direction and listing things as near as I can to the way they are assembled.
