Can you show some Top and Side Views of the Trusses?
Specifically, do the trusses get less wide horizontally toward the middle part?

Well this is a quick and dirty way. Draw the side view of the truss as a complex profile and apply it to a beam. Then make a complex profile of multiple triangular shapes and apply to a column of similar dimensions as original profiles beam.

Then intersect the two objects. Perform a subtraction seo with column as operator and voila.
