Resize in different dimension?

I want to resize a group lines, in this case a window (2d) seen in projection, so that y-scale is the same and the x-scale half of original. Does anybody know how to do this?

As far as I know it is not possible unless you create a gdl object out of the 2d stuff and then resize it. Once resized you can explode the object, only problem is that any dimensions are exploded also. Why do you need to do this?
a screen shot would help to show exactly what you want to do.
it sounds like a simple function for the resize tool.
You can not resize groups so you will need to select the group of lines you want to resize and then temporarily ungroup them while you resize.

.... except that the author wants independent X and Y scales, which the Resize menu does not provide.

As far as I know, this is not possible.

Cigraph's ArchiRuler 2.0 does provide this facility

Thanks a bunch for all the answers!
I have a screenshot here from the window I was trying to resize, like Tom said: I want to scale the dimensions independently, so that the window is seen from 45 degrees projection, this is possible in Autocad and should be possible in Archicad? thanks again for your comments!

Why do you want to view 2D lines at an angle in ArchiCAD?

You have two options that I can think of:
1) Place the window in your model and shoot an elevation of it at 45 degrees, then copy the linework.
2) Make a library object of your window, which you can then resize in X or Y axes independently.
