Slowing frame rate for fly-through

Anonymous
Not applicable
Hi again ... boy am I firing off the questions today ....

I would like to do a fly through to show the client their proposed building. I have set the cameras and everything is fine. The problem is that when the fly through is saved as a quicktime movie it is all over in a matter of seconds .... it is like we are flying around the building in a jet fighter.

The only settings that I have been seen that can alter the speed is ....
1. The number of frames that are spent at each camera .... this does slow down the fly through but it isn't smooth .... it starts and stops at each camera.

2. The number of frames per second under compression settings ..... I have set this to the minimum 8 ..... but it is still too quick.

Thank you.

there is a great tip for doing animations from Mark Burginger you can see this at http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=3160

You require to have Quicktime Pro for this tip, which is downloadable from Apple from about $20.

What is your walking speed and the distance you have to cover? That will give you the time needed. You can hardly walk around the house in 10 seconds

Multiply the time in seconds by the frames per second you want - minimum 15 maximum 24 - and you will get the number of frames needed.

In your path, there is a setting for the number of frames between the cameras. Mind you, you should have cameras at each important point (e.g. entering the living room, starting up the stairs, etc). The total number of the frames should be as calculated above. If not, add more cameras to taste.

You can also increase the lenght of the movie by specifying that you should hold at certain cameras for a specified number of seconds.

Don't expect a small file that can be emailed.

For a smaller file that can be emailed AND interactive, check out dunaco ArchiShock plugin.

Thanks for the help guys ..... it looks as if increasing the number of frames on the path between camera's will do exactly what I want.

I think I may be getting the hang of this program now .... oh until next weeks questions anway
