Walls on layers that are turned off affect walls on layers that are on

When I turn a wall layer off because it is being removed (I have the Start edition therefore don't have the renovation tool) the walls on that layer continue to affect walls on layers that are switched on where a new wall crosses them. It produces a gap in the new wall at the point where the two walls intersect. I would like the new walls to display in their entirety without having to fix them with 2d elements. Can anybody help!

Thanks

You have to assign another intersection group number (the number usually set as "1" in the layer settings dialog) for the walls you don't want to affect the others.

Thanks for that! That was exactly what I was looking for!
Any idea why the walls are now not intersecting, though?

This mostly happens because the Reference Lines of the Walls do not join properly.

This isn't the problem here though. The walls were joined properly and as a result of changing the 'intersection group number' in layer settings, it changed to what you can see in the image.....

You should only change the intersection group number for the layer in which your wall does make the unwanted intersection, and if needed just create a new layer for it.

Its also very nice to know that layer intersection priority is saved with views. So no need to make new layers, just save the different layer intersection priority with the view that hides the layer, and use the same one for the view that shows the layer.
