cannot insert windows all of a sudden ???

I am opening a project and I am unable to insert windows in the walls. Doors are fine. When I try to insert a window ( any window ) I can select the library part, change the parameters and then select the wall.

When inserting it gives me the eye icon but after that the window just doesn't show up ( when inserting it looks like there is a grey'ed out line )

starting a new file works fine, it is just this one...

Any thoughts ???

What is your cut plane set at? Another thing to check is your Floor Plan Display setting of the window you're inserting. From what you've said it's not that you can't insert it rather you just can't see it once you do insert it.

solved it.. too silly to mention...
well here it goes, somehow my header height was set to 1' from the floor...
