And until your wish come true you can use two (or more) sections with the second starting at the depth-end of the first one and then overlap them in a layout. Be careful to set section lines of the second one to a thin pen, and also place it in a different (hidden) layer.

My dream has always been a system that says
"For every X feet away, subtract Y from the current pen", with Y being either a pen value (adjusting pen 1 to the left), or a weight (remove .02 mm) or a color (make 5% lighter)
