The same way as you save any other view, into your View Map (I have a folder within it for 3D views). It stores camera position, 3d window settings, render settings, sun position etc. too.

And the old way, relocated in the menu structure, placing a camera into the plan.

AFAIK it does not actually place a camera?

Old fashioned enough to prefer old ways ...

do both: place the camera so that you can batch render your preferred 3D views (key frames only) and drag the camera onto the view map so that it is available for layouting . . .

Make sure all your 3D window and/or rendering settings are just as you want them before creating the views! Changing them later will reset the zoom (and the 3D marquee if any) as well.

... that contains the old 3D window floating palette. Yes, I know that.

The point was that saving the 3D view does NOT place the camera in current or any other path.

3D gaming is one thing. Architectural photography is something different.
