I'm on version 9 and all you have to do is use your cursor to select the whole project then use the rotate tool in the edit menu to rotate it to the desired position. I'm not sure about AC10.

Make sure you have the marquee tool set to the thick line marquee (all floors option) in the info box.

Also have all the layers turned on so that nothing is left in its original position.

You can rotate an entire model with all its plan content, but the 2D content of elevation/sections and detail will not rotate. The next time you open a section and rebuild it from model, the building will have moved from its original location and any 2D content will not align any more.

My thick Marquee tool that is supposed to select items on all stories doesn't work. It only selects things on the current story (just like the thin one). Is there some preference setting or something I am missing??

When I need to rotate a project I have to do it floor by floor then items that show up on more that one floor get rotated more than once if I am not careful- very time consuming.
