License Delivery maintenance is expected to occur on Saturday, November 30, between 8 AM and 11 AM CET. This may cause a short 3-hours outage in which license-related tasks: license key upload, download, update, SSA validation, access to the license pool and Graphisoft ID authentication may not function properly. We apologize for any inconvenience.

can't download teamwork from remote server

Hi all,
I hope its a simple solution. I have been trying to set up a teamwork project in AC16 with another consultant, which is the first time ever using teamwork for both of us. He has set up his server locally at his office. When I go and open/join a test file teamwork project, choosing his BIM server, the project starts to load (getting content) but then freezes at Phase four (checking lib), see screenshot 1. I then have to restart AC, then when I click on the same sample project again I get a warning "Unknown document version", see screenshot 2. We have done this multiple times with newly made sample projects and still the same errors etc.

Any help would be appreciated,
Jim

Just a shot in the dark: ArchiCAD and the BIM Server must be the exact same build besides being the same version. Could it be that your AC is not the same build as his BIM Server?
One hotfix has already come out for AC16.

Then I think I will forward this issue to GS.

JMM4JMC,

We had a few clients report this but it does not appear to be a general problem. While at the moment I do not have specifics as to why it happens we have found a workflow to correct it:

1. Delete the local copy using the Teamwork / Projects / Local Data Manager.
2. Close ArchiCAD.
3. Delete the temporary XML files listed in step 5 of this article: http://archicadwiki.com/Teamwork/ConnectionProblems#A5_-_Locate_and_delete_these_files_from_the_clie....
4. Start ArchiCAD and join the project.

Note: The files you delete in step 3 erase ArchiCAD's memory of recent BIM Servers so you will need to login fresh once more, this time only unless these files are again deleted in the future.

I hope this helps.

We just had this problem before we gave the BIM-server more memory on the virtual machine.

Thanks for this info, it worked for the error "unknown document version warning connecting to server". This error was displaying for only one person on one project. The only thing out of the ordinary is the user had logged into the file from another machine and presumably had the file open in both locations. Not sure if its a cause.

I had the "unkown document version (0,0)" error while trying to access a bim server project today, away from my office on a public network. I tried the work-around that NIck suggested, but when the file was opening I got this message: "internal error, archicad will close", and it closed. No luck.

I know this post was from several months ago, but it also seemed to not have a resolution, so I thought I would post an update.

I had the same issue loading a remote project, thought AC had stopped responding at phase 4 checking libraries, killed it, restarted and got the document version error message. I deleted my local data with the local data manager and tried it again. This time I let it run it's course, and had a seperate archicad open with a blank file in it, from here I opened the local data manager and noted that even though it had been 20minutes since i tried to open the teamwork project, the data manager told me there had been a library created only 2 minutes ago.

Basically, even though it appeared it had frozen, it was still working, just extremely slowly during the phase 4 stage of opening the project. all in all it took over 30 minutes to open the file, but it did eventually work
