Installation of Cinema4D 8.5 upgrade was smooth, the eXchange program installs as a plug-in for both C4D and ArchiCAD.
No complaints here about this new tool. I will post more as I learn about the details.

Large projects also transfer just fine, click link to view 1920 x 1080 HDVS image, this is a straight port - only thing added in C4D was the Sky Background. This file brings ArchiCAD to a slow crawl when rendering.
Using Cinema4D -
Rendered in 1 minute 41 sec. on a Dell Precision 340 2Ghz.
Attention Modem Users
Jpeg File size is 776 KB.

B&W Design Plot Presentation made in ArchiCAD

Face it we are always looking for a short-cut. A good one with C4D is the Ozone Plug-in. It comes with the XL Bundle as a 30-day demo and I will have to tell you it works great. Getting just the right look for your scene could not be any easier.
See the attachments for a clue regarding how it is set-up.

I now have the Exchange plugin. And I can't get it to work.
I export from AC and then import into C4D, at first it looks fine, but on closer inspection all the polygons have been simplified so everything is out of wack.
I'm not sure what scale to use when I export so maybe that's it, but I've tried different scale and I get the same result in C4D. Although the names come through much better via this plugin than .3ds I have to say the .3ds model is nicer.
I've sent MAXON a support query re this, but does anyone else have a similar problem? Or have experienced this?
