Add layout revision ID in file name when publishing

Achille Pavlidis

Every time we publish a layout with a new revision ID we are forced to change the publishing path to new folder in order to keep the old versions of the published drawings.

This is really cumbersome.

Please make the publisher add the revision ID of the layout in the filename so as not to override the previously published drawing, for archival issues.

Unless I am misunderstanding your wish, you can add the Revision/Issue ID and the date to the published file names?

Cheers,
Link.

I have deleted the poll for this thread and moved it to the Construction Documentation forum as this feature is already implemented in AC18 as Link pointed it out.

Too bad I can't grab the projectnumber and date from the project info settings. Not a big fan of filling out things twice.

Still, awesome way to automate things in large projects.

Why not with autotext as per Links image?
Or maybe I am not understanding what you want.

What Link is showing, is that you make custom Issue entries for project number and date. I've tried the autotext from project info settings, they do not work. So you need to fill out these entries.

Thanks Link!!!

Great tip and a huge help!!!

but sorry Laszlo, this is not very straightforward or intuitive. I wouldn't consider it as "implemented", I think it should be something of "one click" solution...

Anyway great tip Link, cheers!

Hi Link,
This is exactly what I was looking for. I recognise that you were using AC18, has this capability been deprecated in subsequent versions of Archicad? I know that "Issues" are now "Transmittals" in AC24,
but is there an equivalent methodology to add the Revisin ID to the pdf set automattically?
Love someone's help.
