DETAIL MARKER HEAD ROTATION?

in the model view, the detail marker head is horizontal, yet when I place the viewmap on the layout, I needed to orient the view in a 90 degree rotation.

therefore, the detail marker head is now no longer horizontal....how do I get the marker head to display properly so that it reads horizontal on the layouts. I know it will be rotated on the "model" environment and that's ok.....I just need the detail marker to rotate 90 counterclockwise so that it reads correctly on the "layout" (sheets).

I feel yer pain sir.
I'm not sure I understand how can such a sophisticated program not have a detail creator that, well, basically cut a detail view from an elevation.

I know, I'm getting used to the detail_18 maker (circle with simple line) but still that polygon thing it does......shouldn't we have a detail marker that we can place in elevation and have it cut, say 2 feet beyond the placed marker) and create a "section type" detail of the area we want to detail?

I'm working around using the detail_18 marker but still, it is a pain.

OK, so, 2 years later, and the problem is WORSE. In ArchiCAD 21, someone decided to clean up the ArchiCAD Library... apparently, a very hasty effort. Besides losing most of the 2D "Detailer" objects (another post), they cut our options for Detail Tool Markers. There used to be a Detail Marker 1 and 2, each with a few special nuances. Now, all we have left in the North American library is:

Detail-Marker 21 is a hot mess, not even able to display a bubble or a simple circle head (it's an ellipse unless you match width and height... how hard is ROUND?)!

Built-in Detail Marker is moderately better, but now the leader draws off of the bottom of the circle, so it looks WRONG, and the grips make no sense.

Detail Indicator NCS 21 DOES NOT COMPLY WITH NCS anymore! There isn't even a head shape! In fact, there's NOTHING THERE!

Detail Part Marker_NCS 21 is just a section marker... why don't they call it that?

C'mon guys, let's just start off fresh and make it look like it does in Graphic Standards, NCS, and all of the Frank Ching books! THEN you can get creative.

For now, I have to import the Detail Marker 01 20 from old projects. I pity the fools who just bought ArchiCAD 21 new. If I were judging by the appearance and functionality of the BASIC DEFAULT TOOLS, I would think that this program is a piece of crap! And they've had chances to fix it... 2 Library Updates in AC21. Not good for marketing, guys.

Same here...
I understand the effort of making the different ArchiCAD versions more similar to each other, but some things just got worse for North American users!
I really hate using older tools manually copied to our best of library folder, but I guess it's either that or I have to live with an OK text (horizontal), but a slanted handle and a node that doesn't make any sense - all this in rotated views, of course.
Hopefully they got enough feedback to fix these things in 22...
