Drawing Index

I have placed some items (view sets) in Layouts that I do not want to have included when I gererate the drawing index. Is there a way to get some "drawings" not to be listed?

The Index is just a schedule. You can create settings for different methods in including or excluding layouts.

I take that to mean no. ?

That's a "yes". Just modify the scheme settings for the index.

I hope Tom won't mind me answering on behalf of him.

Steve, It's definitely a YES.

You can Filter out some layouts by criteria.

The Sheet Index has very limited Criteria for selection. So limited in fact that I can say them in 6 syllables: Master, Subset Published.

If the layouts you don't want to list can be differentiated based on any of those, then you're in luck.

Hopefully GS will provide us with more power in this area in the future!

Cheers,

I know.

I didn't ask about filtering out layouts.

I was hoping there was a way to filter out drawings from a drawings index list.

Oh you mean a Drawing Index!

Same thing really...

so then there is a way to filter out the drawings I don't want to show up in a drawings list like the ones in the picture I posted at the top?

The reason I don't want to show them in the list is because they are groups of notes, location maps, etc...and I am not using titles with them and so they have no drawing number.

The reason they are in the layout as drawings is because I drug them over to the layout from a list of view sets.

It would be to much bother to add them to a master sheet so they wont show up in the drawings list for that layout.

Filtering of drawings is pretty much as limited as for layouts, so I think you are out of luck. The only way I can see is if the drawing items can be set at not 100% size and use the size category for filtering. Pretty cludgy workaround.
