Is there any possible to keep design and construction doc?

Does there anyone know how to keep the design and construction work at the same file? I have one house doc already, and on the construction site has some kind of different (room size slightly changed, the building slight shrunk 20mm,etc), I want to keep them at the same file, otherwise I have to save as to another file.

I think my question is why you would want to keep them in the same file? It just makes scheduling and file performance that much more of a pain.

I was also trying to keep them in the same file. The main reason being that if there are a lot of changes in the construction documents phase than building permit files also need to be updated and resubmitted for approval. If they are in separate files then it is hard to keep track of all changes.
However, this changed with Virtual Trace. It is easy to keep the two files synchronized with Virtual Trace (although attention still needs to be paid) and so nowadays I am for keeping them in separate files.

Nobody has mentioned Revit which does this without fuss.
Maybe AC programmers should look over their shoulders more frequently!

Yes, I think you are right, it would be good if GS worked out a solution for this Story Height problem, plus that Floor Plan Cut Plane problem (there should be possible to define regions to have different Floor Plan Cut Plane Heights on the same Story), because I think these two are related.
