PDF output in plotmaker 9

I have been less than happy with the new PDF save option in archicad and plotmaker 9. Often times when using this new feature I get one or more sheets that "fail" according to the progress dialog box. Most of the time these failed sheets appear to output correctly but it does leave me wondering. Today however I was not able to get a merged group of three sheets to output at all. If I output them individually the pdf files are created (although one of the three sheets "fails" in the progress box). When I output them with the merged box checked, a different sheet "fails" and the file is not produced at all. If I go back to my old ways of printing to a pdf I can create the desired merged pdf. Have others had problems with this? Are people using the new "save" to PDF in publisher or have you chosen to go back to the old ways? The new save method does always seem to pick up the correct page size which has been nice. Thanks for any feed back

once it's set up, repeated publishing of PDF revisions to archive is made into a simple process.

If you have a standard PlotMaker template set up, all you have to do is change the desitnation folder in the publishing set properties. All else is already set up.

Unlike printing.

Still makes no sense to me, maybe just habit, as well as how simple it is to print to pfd (at least on the Mac). All I do I select the sheets to print (still do the same in publisher after opening it, or print all), then select print to pdf, and the output is a book, not a bunch of sheets I then have to assemble, which is what I get via Publisher.. maybe I am missing something with the book, but still, it can't be simpler to print to pdf on the Mac, do know about PC's though?? I really print pdf lkb's everyday too.

Now, I do have my template set up to publish DXF files, hair and full, just wish plotmaker could remember display options

Even on a Mac, I like publishing to PDF. You can get it to print to a book (not loose sheets) by selecting the right options.

If nothing else, I don't have to navigate through any folder hierarchies to get the pdf's into the right location. Once established, publishing with a single click puts CD's where they belong, SK's where they belong, Proposal Requests where they belong, etc.

What options are you setting to make a book? I have tried all I see, but must be missing something as all I get are pages.

My needs are pretty simple really. I always print to the desktop and then email them out, so going via print dialogue works fine, 6 of one, half dozen of the other:) (in my case, I am not doing all the SK's, proposals etc, just email out a book for someone, so no navigating required. But i would like to know how you are generating books, rather than sheets. Missing that probably set me on my habit.

There is an option to combine into one book.

HAAA now there's another obscure GS bit of info. If you don't drag the whole book over, you are not give that option!!!!

All you need is to have a folder on the publish set and then PlotMaker (or ArchiCAD) gives you an option (by selecting the Folder) to combine its contents into a single PDF book.
