doors and window missing in reference when publishing layout

I place a floor plan reference on my layout (reference is pink).  I set the pdf in the publisher set to "print reference".  Everything looks great on the layout in the publisher set but in the pdf the doors and windows of the reference are missing.  I have attached a screen shot from the publisher set and from the pdf.

Interesting issue.

The lines and fills of the trace also seem to be publishing darker and thicker.

I don't know anyway to change this.

However, instead of using a trace reference, why not just overlay the actual view you are using for the reference.

I tried restarting.  I also tried deleting the layout and recreating it and neither worked.  I just tried the same process in another project file and same thing, the windows and doors are missing, but on this other project, it did not darken or thicken the reference.

when you say "overlay the view": you mean take the reference view an put it on top of the other view on the layout?  with no control of color or transparency I don't see how that is a work around.  I guess not enough users publish references on layouts but I have always had trouble getting it to work.

You have the new view (grey) on your layout.

Place the actual existing view on top (not as a reference), lining them up so they overlay perfectly.

Use display order to send it behind the new view.

In the drawing settings, make sure transparency is on for both.

The existing view you can choose any pen set you want, so create a pen set that has all pens set to a pale red and set the drawing to use that pen set.

Or it may be better to use a Graphic Override in the existing view, that changes all pens to a light red and all fills to 30% light red.

That will make any fills look better I think.

So you may want to create a new 'reference' view of the existing plan that uses that override to change the colours.

So, you are using the same view as what you would have in the reference, but you are actually placing it on the layout.

If you want to print the layout with and without the existing, then duplicate the layout and delete the existing from one of them.

Barry, one last question: are you suggesting this option of overlaying a view on top of a view because archicad cannot publish a trace reference with transparency?  I'm trying to figure out --am I having a technical issue or is archicad simply not capable of doing this?

I have never actually tried publishing with a trace reference.

I would assume transparency would not be an issue if the trace is in the background.

I was just trying to come up with an alternative solution to publish the doors and windows of the reference.
