material intersection problem

I am not getting this intersection right. Both are with their default material properties.

is there any setting wrong? Please help Thank you

I am assuming that you modeled the "soil" using the Mesh tool.

Unfortunately, the geometry of a Mesh will not intersect automatically with other element types based on the Intersection Priority of its Building Material.

You will have to do it manually, using Solid Element Operations (SEO).
