Archicad 29 : Positioning a Door Unit Above the Wallhole Base

How can I keep the door’s wallhole and the Sill to Wall Base setting at 0 mm while positioning only the door unit 100 mm higher at the finished tile level?

Operating system used: Windows

Using the threshold you should be able to accomplish this.  The only thing I wish it allowed for was the ability to set it as empty.

For this door, I changed the threshold surface to be AIR, and turned the contours to be white under Floor Plan and Section.

Is this what you re looking for? It can be achieved by setting the Lower Oversize to 100.

However, the Sill to Wall Base value will be 100.

Thank You Sir.

However, my sliding door unit is 3450 × 2900 mm, and I need a rough construction opening of 3500 × 3000 mm, starting at the cast slab level of 0 mm. The finished tile level is 100 mm above the slab.

I had assumed the wallhole or rough construction opening accommodates the complete door unit, including its sill, and is formed during construction before the unit is installed. My concern is that setting Sill to Wall Base to 100 mm raises the whole door unit, including its head and wallhole or rough construction, and makes it misalign with the adjacent window heads and shared lintel in my design.

Is there a way to keep Sill to Wall Base at 0 mm and the door head aligned, while accounting for the 100 mm floor buildup in the rough construction opening?

Maybe I understood it wrong, but I don't think that's possible. If the door sill sits above the wall base it can not at the same time report it does sit at zero (unless you would very specifically script a door like that) – since that would be very confusing.

To get the rough opening you could also use this option:

Sorry for the German screenshot. I'm not sure if this is possible with the INT doors or if that was special to the DACH doors. 🤔

But even here this has no effect on the sill height.

There is a Leaf Undercut setting under Frame & Leaf, but that is limited to a max of 50mm.

Thank you JeffH, that’s a helpful workaround! I hadn’t thought of using the threshold. I’ll try setting its surface to AIR and its contours to white in Floor Plan and Section.

I thought I was the only one who had noticed this limitation and felt Archicad could handle it in a more practical way. Thanks for sharing your solution!
