Place objects with random scale and rotation

Is there a quick and easy way to place - say - a tree and with each click define a random rotation and scale, within given parameters (e.g. random rotation 0 - 360 degrees, scale +/- 30%)?

You can choose random rotation in multiply command dialogue, but I'm not sure you can randomise scale.

Have tried that option before but it's not very useful (to me).

A couple of ideal solutions would be:

Quickly define specific parameters - something like in ZBrush, where you click to define the position, then drag to define size, then drag again to define rotation

Random - activate a 'Random' mode (similar to activating a Relative Construction Method) and specify deviation parameters for Rotation, Scale and Translation

I gave PARAM-O a try and it looks like it is doing the trick.
Open the gsm file inside PARAM-O and change it to your desired Tree object.
Hope that helps.

We use the library shown in this video:

There is a download link to google drive in the description.

It allows different methods of random distribution or scatter.

This looks a lot like C4D cloner object. I loved it, i don't see why there's no standard tool that behaves live that.

Thanks this looks fantastic

Are there any other gems like this that I should be aware of?

The presets are great too...

I wonder how many of these plants and trees can be added before AC starts to bog down?

AC handles it quite fine, but render times increase a lot if you place many trees. We tend to use them for a bit more minimalist look (see attached below).

For trees there are also archiradar libraries that create random trees every time you place one, as I recall.

Those are not free, but the price is very fair and I think you can get free updates.

They look great for this type of work.

Thanks again and will check out Archiradar.
