ArchiCAD 11 Hotfix (build 1086)

Dear ArchiCAD-Talkers,

We have released Hotfix 1086 for ArchiCAD 11. It applies to Commercial, Trial and Educational licenses, and is currently available for INT and USA language versions. To download the Hotfix, please use "Check for updates..." command in Help menu.

Before installing the Hotfix, please take a moment to read the Release Notes!

Files with hotlinked modules may open unusually slow for the first time, as a result of a critical bugfix. This is normal, and happens at the first opening. After saving such a file, you might notice that the file gets significantly smaller.

A note for Grid Tool users: This Hotfix is a must-have for Grid Tool users. It fixes several functionality bugs, as well as some frequent crashes.

Yep, sounds like the same problem to me, or at least the same effect.

Update, the bug is repeatable with this file AND the file becomes unusable crashing AC when it opens. I have been working on this project for the past year and this is the first time something like this happens either in AC10 or 11.

The date hasn't changed here either. Created and modified dates still 24/07/07, but if you 'get info' its shows the version as 11.0.0 v1 AUS (1086)

Just checked, same result on our Mac Pro's

It hasn't fixed the problem with the zone category name not working - it still uses the zone name instead (this is in GDL with "zone_relations").

http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/viewtopic.php?p=95959&highlight=#95959

Of course it only affects those that need to use it recognize different types of zones (like me ).

Rather than waiting for the next hotfix I have re-written my scripts and changed my zone categories so I can use the zone code instead.
Just means I have to update the zones in all existing drawings.

It would be so nice to have a list of official bugs that are being looked into so we can tell if we need to keep pushing the issue.
This bug was reported just prior to the previous hotfix (1040?) but that had already been locked off - so fair enough I waited for this next one.
Still it hasn't been fixed and if I ask the question will it get fixed would I get an answer

It is easier for me to change the way I work.
It's a pain because I have to update all existing plans as we use them, but at least now I can use V11 the way I want to.

I'm having the same problem with copy/pasting lines and fills between sections and also from plan to sections. Crash every time. This is a HUGE problem. Should we revert back to the previous hotfix?

Well…, In the project I am working I have to copy/paste information between 400 drawings for the next deadline. It looks as if I will have to do that.

Does anybody know what is the best procedure for downgrading?
Or I just have to reinstall and update?

Eduardo,

If you wanted to roll back to build 1040, you have to reinstall ArchiCAD, and install the 1040 Hotfix. If you don't have this package anymore, you can access it through the 'Check for updates' page. Check for updates always offers the latest Hotfix, but you can access back versions through the Release Notes page.

Needless to say, our developers are investigating this crash. We have yet to find what exactly causes it.

Thanks Greg,

I assume you received the file, and have been able to duplicate the error?

At least I have options/workarounds and except for the "Automatic pen color visibility" bug there is nothing on the update that improves my AC experience. Anyway as long as you have the file can you try editing a Detail Marker to see a very nice delay/slowdown, and see why I don't like the New Details Markers since I cannot control them to look as they look in this file.

I am also having the crashing problem. Should I reinstall and update to 1040 until it's fixed?? I cannot work and I'd say thats a LITTLE problem.
