Archicad automatically inserts ' (feet) after first digit when entering distance

I’m having an issue when entering distances in Archicad. Previously I could move an element with Command + D and simply type the distance (for example 20' or 5"). Now Archicad automatically inserts a feet symbol ' immediately after the first digit, before I finish typing.

For example:

  • If I try to type 20, it automatically becomes 2'0.

  • If I want 10, it becomes 1'0.

  • If i want 5", it automatically becomes 5'.

Because of this I cannot type multi-digit values normally. I have to delete the ' symbol or use the Reference Distance (R) every time, which I did not have to do before.

Nothing in my Working Units (Feet & Inches, fractional) has changed, and I already checked Tracker and Coordinate Input settings, but the behavior persists.

Has anyone encountered this before or knows what setting could cause Archicad to automatically insert the feet symbol after the first digit during numeric input?

Additional info:
I recorded a short video showing the issue. In the first attempt at drawing the line, I press R for reference distance and I’m able to enter the 20' distance I want without any problem.

In the second attempt, I try to simply type 20' directly without pressing R or any other key. You can see that after I type the 2, Archicad automatically inserts the feet symbol (') before I finish typing the number. I then have to delete that symbol in order to type the 0 and complete the distance.

In the last attempt, you can see what usually happens when I’m working quickly. I’m typing distances fast and don’t notice that the ' symbol was inserted automatically, so the value becomes incorrect and I have to stop and go back to fix it.

Previously I was able to work quickly and type distances directly without Archicad automatically inserting the feet symbol after the first digit. Now it happens every time unless I use R for reference distance, which slows down the workflow.

macOS 26.4.1 ... still an issue....

The issue is not with MacOS it is with AC (all versions).

It’s the updated to macOS 26.4 that caused the issue so I would suggest it is a macOS issue but also expect Graphisoft would have to provide an update to Archicad to fix it. The 26.4.1 update to macOS hasn’t resolved it.

Normally would agree but there are no issues with Autocad, Rhino, SketchUp, Vectorworks, Briscad, Adobe Suite, Affinity Suite, Blender, C4D, RVT (on parallels)…

So it looks like macOS "changed" something that AC was not doing standardly…

I also have the same problem. Hoping to receive the solution as soon as possible, as it is hampering the work flow and productivity a lot…

Description of the issue:
When starting any modeling operation (Wall, Line, Polyline, etc.) and attempting to enter a distance in the floating Tracker, the system automatically confirms the first digit and fills the remaining fields with decimal zeros. This prevents fluid typing of multi-digit numbers or specific decimals, forcing the user to manually delete the auto-generated zeros before re-typing the correct value.
Steps to Reproduce:
  1. Select any drawing tool (e.g., Wall tool).
  2. Click once in the workspace to start the vector.
  3. Immediately try to type a distance (e.g., "15").
  4. Current Result: Upon pressing "1", the Tracker instantly displays "1.00" (depending on working units) and ignores the subsequent "5" unless the zeros are deleted first.
Technical Environment:
  • Archicad Version: 28.3.3 (Build 6300) - Spanish/International version.
  • Operating System: Version 26.4.1 as reported.
  • Hardware: Apple Silicon
Temporary Workaround:
Pressing the TAB key once before typing any number seems to "lock" the Tracker field, allowing for normal multi-digit and decimal entry.

Yes. Tab works.

However, I changed working units / length to 0 decimals... No issues now :

I feel that this is a very serious bug and Graphisoft must come out with the update very quickly.
