Attribute Manager crashes when appending composites

This has happened to me before and I have a sense that I had found a workaround but now forgot what it was.

I open the Attribute Manager from the file whose composites need updating, purge unused and delete as necessary, hit 'Apply', the sure-you-want-to-delete-all-this windows comes up, hit 'Delete', everything cool, open my reference file in the Attribute Manager window, command-click the composites I want, hit 'Append', hit 'Apply', the sure-you-want-to-create all-this-stuff window comes up, everything cool, and when I hit 'Create' I get the bug reporter and the crash.

What should I be doing that I am not doing?

[Update: I am now trying creating one composite at a time and it seems to be working. But this is not really the way it should be working, I think.]

Can't you just Overwrite those composites with composites with the same name in the other file?

Most of the composites are new. The problem seems to be happening only when Attribute Manager needs to 'Create' as opposed to 'Modify'. I have no clue as to what is going on. I am trying one composite at a time, I still get crashes 90% of the time and I can't find a pattern.

here's an idea, if you've got scrapit pro x (and if you haven't then you should get it anyway)

you can paste objects into spx from ac. now if you paste those objects into ac it will automatically add their attributes (works for anything, i think, except pens).

in other words, you can create a database of attributes in spx (hierarchicacly arranged and with descriptions in the info box) and avoid using the attribute manager completely

this may not work in your specific case but it's pretty neat nonetheless

You might want to report this problem to your local reseller along with REP and ATT files.
