If I understand you correctly -- rotating an element in 3D, and not just restricted to plan? You might want to try Cigraph's ArchiRotate, which will rotateObjects. I haven't used it yet, so I can't make any recommendations, but because it's free, it wouldn't hurt to give it a try...
