Gutter 10

Bruce

Once again ArchiCAD lets me down.

I have an irregularly shaped roof that necessitates an eaves gutter being on an angle.

I have tried the Cadimage roof builder, but for some reason it will put in a raked gutter that sits inside the roof envelope and won't show in section. I'm sick of e-mailing them with problems because I rarely get a response, and when I do it usually doesn't help.

So I thought I'd try the Gutter 10 that comes with AC. But the problem is that this gutter will only slope one way!!! I've tried flipping it, rotating it, mirroring it, putting in a negative angle, changing the anchor point - but no matter what I try I can't get it to slope the way I want.

Does anybody know how to make this sodding thing work?

I had no problem making gutter 10 pitch either way.
I used 1:12 and -1:12. Did you try setting the pitch
in terms of feet in twelve feet rather than degrees ?

(if you're using half round gutter) can you rotate 180 degrees (in plan) or are you using hangers or K-style gutter, (and therefore its assymmetrical?).

I also tried, and found no other way of sloping in opposite direction. Can you get the ends to mitre correctly?

Since you're on Archicad 10, just skip it.

Use the new Profiled beams. You can make them into whatever shape you need and they slope.

Beams weren't suitable as I had to intersect two gutters at an odd angle and different slopes. I just used two roofs.
