How can I make a vertical hole in mesh?

Hi there! How can I create a vertical, circular hole in a mesh with a width of 5'-11"? I can only seem to be able to draw holes in plan view, which means they're horizontal and parallel to the floor. I want to make a hole to make a tunnel-like entrance.

I tried windows but they can only be placed on walls and I can't seem to adjust the width of walls either.

Thanks

I don't think you worded your question correctly.

How can I create a vertical, circular hole in a mesh with a width of 5'-11"?     and   "I want to make a hole to make a tunnel-like entrance."   don't seem like the same thing.  I don't think that would be called a vertical hole.

In any case, you can make a hole at any angle in a mesh using SEO and the Cylinder object from the Basic Shapes folder in the library.

I've tried that, but after the subtraction, the mesh stays solid, there is no hole.

Did you put the operator in a separate layer so you can turn that layer off?
