Rafter tails and SEO

I am trying to create rafter tails with a curved cutout at the end and have tried various methods. One of which is using SEO and a dome to subtract from the end of a inclined block with no success. On a more general note have not been able to get any type of shape to subtract from another using SEO. Am most likely missing something simple. As always thanks in advance.

If they are all the same why not create an object yourself?

Use a slab, create the shape, view from above in 3D window, save as GSM, place object.

Try this italian site here. They have something similar to what you're looking for (towards the bottom of the page). Maybe you can edit it if it's not exactly what you need.

Take a look at this pdf file from Digital Vision. It gives a clear example of creating rafter tails specifically. It helped me out.
