License Delivery maintenance is expected to occur on Saturday, November 30, between 8 AM and 11 AM CET. This may cause a short 3-hours outage in which license-related tasks: license key upload, download, update, SSA validation, access to the license pool and Graphisoft ID authentication may not function properly. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Rename/rebrand ArchiCAD

Bruce

I think the name 'ArchiCAD' is limiting Graphisoft's potential market, and perhaps inadvertantly, and unnecessarily, prejudicing people against it before they even try it. Given that 'Archi' limits it to architecture, and 'CAD' is a dead term (it's now BIM), I think Graphisoft should rebrand their flagship product to be more relevant, appealing and cool.

I have to say that Training Material in the form of youtube videos has improved a lot. Looks like a 180 Degree turn in customer/user service!

Thanks GS!.

You like it or not the entire Nemetschek group lineup is confusing.
Look on Adobe or Autodesk. Everything is branded similarly, looking kind of similar.

The name is 90s.

It should be called something like Nemetschek Design. You can go two years with Nemetschek Archicad Design then leave Archicad.
I don't even understand the decisions to have 3 BIM software (where two is a nieche market) in one company. But hey. They have all this stuff and I'm sitting in a 3rd floor apartment hitting the keyboard. Maybe they are right.

I would just get rid of the "i" and reduce it to just two syllables. Archcad or ARcad.

Bim is part of a process. You can use Archicad and not actually be doing any Bim, as Mrs. Zolna Murray reminds us everyday, but You will always be doing computer assisted design (CAD) if You use archicad or revit no matter if You are an architect or an engineer. My two cents.

The aesthetics of the rebranding is ok to me... Nice design.
But... IMHO... The timing for this Rebrand makes no sense.
I mean. I am not a marketing expert, but doing this in the middle of a pandemic.
Our subconscient will always associate the brand with Covid. For me its not a good association.

Regarding the Rename: I am more for "BIMGo".

Yeah, i like the new branding too.

Good point about the Covid association, but i think it wont affect them because its a situation completely out of their control. The same cannot be said of companies that announce themselves on youtube videos (ahh you are that company that interrupts my videos?? no thanks)

Re-branding ArchiCAD to another name can be a risky business, although I understand the logic behind it, and infact, I´m of the opinion of naming it ArchiBIM or ArchBIM.

But on the other side I wish that versions would go hand in hands with years not version, something like ArchiCAD 2020 or in this case ArchiBIM / ArchBIM 2020
A good friend of mine have once told me that I´m so brute that I´m capable of creating a GDL script capable of creating GDLs.
