License Delivery maintenance is expected to occur on Saturday, November 30, between 8 AM and 11 AM CET. This may cause a short 3-hours outage in which license-related tasks: license key upload, download, update, SSA validation, access to the license pool and Graphisoft ID authentication may not function properly. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Shift constraint angle off hor. and vert.

I have and issue with using the 'SHIFT' constraint to place elements vertically or horizontally. Sometimes, the constraint puts the object just off vert. or hor..The off angle is around 1 degree or even less and it is often too close to notice. It is only when one aligns it with something that is correctly hor. or vert. that it is noticed. Then, it seems to fix itself, until it re-occurs - usually unwittingly. I've had this happen in many recent versions including AC19.

This issue seems to happen to me mostly when using the stretch command with polygonal fills, give that a go.

I can second that. Just spend some time drafting with fills or slabs etc and giving edges offsets, it will happen at some point. I get multiple instances throughout the day, but it is tricky to reproduce right after. So it seems a bit random, perhaps related to zooming and panning before it happens or snapguides being drawn.

Sorry being lazy I haven't read the four pages of previous posts but it sounds like from what I have read this is the same glitch we are having with Dimension and Label tools and any kind of polyline type tool eg. Wall, Line, slab, mesh or roof tools

I made a movie showing examples below

Dimension tool

I found that it only happens to me when having a fill below my workspace, so that when performing tasks over the fill the anomaly occurs but when I turn the fill off, it goes away.

We just noticed this issue today. It seems to only happen when tracing over a PDF. Anyone else notice that?

The PDF is likely triggering the issue similar to what lasse has mentioned about have a fill in the background. The investigation is underway.

I appreciate all the input from all of you. I have submitted the information supplied by everyone to our development team to investigate the issues. It probably requires a coded solution in the form of an update for most or all of these things. When I have some news to post I will do so. Feel free to add any other information that might be of use.

Nick, I hope that GS will fix this faster than they have with issues in the past. This has the potential to cause some serious issues in the field that can quickly cost big $$'s. It is the type of thing that should be corrected by a hotfix as soon as it is sussed out rather than holding back on issuing a hotfix until this and a bunch of other issues are all resolved.

AC used to be really good at snapping to the obvious requirement. Since v19 I am getting frequent "errors" where the snap point is just off a corner but has snapped to an edge. The new blue line guides are clever, but they may be being too clever...
Same here. I often have to zoom way in to get an accurate snap.

I had one colleague who would hold down SHIFT to keep things 'ortho' and then at the very last moment did something by first letting go of SHIFT and nudging his mouse before typing to basically make the whole process of holding down SHIFT redundant.

Often I'm also holding down Shift key for ortho and as we know in AC19 that not working normally.
But I just discovered, that old functionality of Shift key now can be achieved with CTRL + SHIFT keys. When drawing something just hold down Ctrl, then hold down Shift, after that release Ctrl key and then if needed press D to input distance.
