You can draw one shape, then magic wand the other tool to that shape.

the Magic wand function is the tracing of an already drawn shape with the currently selected tool(must be a tool that can be drawn with an edge i.e. slab, fill, beam, wall etc...but not a point placed item like an object, window, column.

to activate the magic wand function , just "hold down the space bar",

move you mouse on the edge of the shape to be traced, or inside the polygon area you want traced, archicad will show you the line/edge that will be traced,

then just left click "while still holding down the space bar".

I hope this helps.

I have been using ArchiCAD continually since ArchiCAD 4.5
