Wall priorities and intersections

I am trying to clean up the intersections of some complex walls that I made in the Profile editor. Having a hard time understanding the instructions from the help menu.

First of all, when assigning priorities, is priority 1 considered to be "higher" or "lower" than priority 8? The English language is confusing is this respect. "First" priority is more important than "second" priority, but I don't know if ArchiCAD uses it the same way.

Second, what does it mean to assign "core component" status to a given element? How does this change how it will look in 2D intersections? Can there or should there be more than one element of the wall section with "core component" status?

Third, what do hotspots do if placed in the profile window? Do they do somethind special?

For those that intend using this to control your wall intersections
then remember you will also need to create as many different
wall composites
as you have different intersections.
This is the basic rule for a general project in which you have several kind of composite structures.
Then remember the skin priorities' rules
I'm having an headache with the composite structures.

alemanda, can you explain better what you mean by ...

Has anyone notice that the wall priorities have changed since AC13.

I just had a message from another user and said that the wall 3 in my previous picture does not work in AC14 and AC15.

Has anybody else picked this up???

Here´s my example on AC15:

So my questions are:
Is this the way it's always been?
A bug?
The way it's suppose to work, i.e. priority does not trump same material?
Or a recent "feature"?
I get the same as andro55 in 14 and 15, hence my question to Cecilia (via pm).

ps
And by the way, why is wall 4's (from the left) priority 6core (in Cecilia's new post, just below andro55's) cutting through horizontal wall's core 12 priority?
I'm confused, or just missing the obvious.

My walls are not intersecting. Even when using the INTERSECT button. Everything is disjointed. I think after using the Graphics Override. How do I go back to default? HELP!

Check the Intersection Group Numbers of the Layers of those Walls.
If a Wall is on a Layer which has Intersection Group Number of 1, and another Wall is on a Layer which has Intersection Group Number of 2, when the two Walls join, the join will not be created by ARCHICAD, their Intersection Group Numbers must be the same.
Also consider that Intersection Group Numbers are stored with Layer Combinations so they may intersect when one Layer Combination (or when a certain View using that Layer Combination) is activated, and they may not intersect when another is activated.

Have you turned off the 'Clean Wall & Beam Intersections' button by any chance?
