Window tags - do they update automatically?

I'm working on another tutorial and came across an issue I thought would be taken care of automatically by using a BIM application. I took a window, copied it to another location, and changed the size of the copied window. I thought this would automatically create a different window tag, but they both show up as "W1".

Does, or can, ArchiCAD automatically update window tags when the properties change? I imagine this can be a huge issue when creating schedules. How would it even schedule "W1"?

If this is something that can be done automatically, how can I do it?

Thanks for your help. Screenshots are attached.

Copied elements are identical, including the element ID, which is generally used for the element identification. If the ID contains a number, that number can be incremented as new elements are placed (not copied), by checking Work Environment > User Preference Schemes > More Options > Assign New Element ID to Each New Element. There is also the Element ID Manager, you can find information about it in the Help files.

Thanks David, I'll look into those.

It's strange to me that the same tag would even be allowed to show up on an element with different properties, especially sizes. But I guess it could be handy if that particular property is not an important piece of your schedule.
