EDIT: I now see that the TXT file does get created and subsequently updated at the correct path. But, for some reason, Archicad reports that it failed. I have now tinkered with it enough and can confirm that any updated info is, in fact, getting saved over the existing file on the hard disk; also, the 'time modified' tag is updated with the latest timestamp. I have left the post below, however, in case someone can help resolve.
===========================
It's all in the title, guys. Publisher can save the schedule as PDF as well as in .xls / .xlsx formats, but it fails to do so when I select .txt for a tab-delimited text output.
Interestingly, if I go the File > Save As... route, the .txt file gets saved just fine and I can import it into my Excel sheet.
It's a simple table of 7 columns (one for each of 7 Zones) with 4 rows (Zone Name, Zone Number, Home Story, and a text custom property).
But I have got many of those schedules which need to be published and fed into my Excel file via Get Data queries, hence the need to resolve this.
Any tips will be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I have now tried with New & Reset All and it's still the same.
Oddly, other similar schedules which I had already set up in my project file are fine, Publisher saves them and reports no errors.
This one in particular, it throws a fit. I even re-created it (i.e. I didn't make a copy of it) and it can't do it.
I created a different one, too, which just looks for Zones or a particular Category and lists just their Home Story Name. Same problem.
Am I the only one facing this issue?

How is this fail 'communicated'? Do you get any message or something?

Yes, an error message comes on the screen:
Publishing of the item failed because Archicad was unable to generate it. [OK]
Took me a while to realize that the file had been created regardless of the error message. And no, it isn't a matter of file permissions/file being open somewhere else etc. And I have now replicated this on Win 11 as well as on my macOS Sonoma. Other schedules have no issues.

While troubleshooting this, I see that if I only include Element Type and Related Zone Category it works. If I try to filter by adding a 3rd criterion, such as Home Story, it produces the issue. I tried with replacing 'Home Story' with other Criteria and some work/some don't.
Just a reminder: the issue is that Archicad reports it couldn't generate the file and the item failed. But in reality the .txt file is saved on the hard disk, complete with all the expected info.
Any tips very welcome. This is clearly a bug.

So you can nail it down to the "schedule side", not to the "publishing side"?

It seems to be the case, yes.
I wonder if others can replicate the issue.

I can replicate this in AC27, although it 'false-fails' with or without home story.
File is written, publisher whines...

Thanks for your help, Stefan. If I can be bothered to file a bug report with GS I will.
