Any Software to make 2D CAD drawing look like a sketch?

Hello, I am new to this forum, but have enjoyed reading it for awhile.

Our firm is looking for software that will make a 2D ArchiCad drawing look like a sketch. I have been told that this type of software exists (3rd party) but I am unable to find it. We are hoping to find a program that would allow us to set different parameters to achieve different sketch results. And of course be compatible with ArchiCad.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank You.

Just begin by saving the floor plan as a dxf instead of the 3D window as described.

Or you can try the ArchiSketchy plugin from Cigraph, that you can buy from objectsonline.

You could use 3d cutting planes, view in 3d, and use the sketch engine. As you will note you would have to have your doors open in 3d to have them read as doors. I use to use a program called powercad and I could copy everything from my plan window to the clipboard and paste straight into powercad. Here I had full control of all aspects of the squiggle effect and achieved very good results with minimal effort.

Nice idea. I suppose then notes, colours, etc could be added if required in Plotmaker to make a more sketchy sketch plan. I have found that since using AC clients sometimes miss the sketchy first stage of an architects service. However with this approach the drawing has a loose impression type feel.

It is called (surprise!) ArchiSketchy and can be found at the Cigraph Factory web site:

You can also do it manually ... select all of your stuff (arrow tool, CTRL A), Edit selection set, change line type to freehand.

You can also create a wavy custom line type and select it as the line for your walls and other objects as well.
I use this to help show walls to be removed.

If you want a hand-drawn look of a perspective image and not a plan view, one amongst many possible solution for the problem, described in the opening post would be to:

1. Import the AC file in Cinema 4D Studio (using the ArchiCAD import plugin)

2. Use the Sketch And Toon render in Cinema - it is currently one amongst the best "sketchy" renderers available.

We use ArchiSketchy and find it excellent.

It will also 'overshoot' automatically - something that won't happen if you replace normal straight lines with wobbly ones.
