When exporting to DWG with "Save Layout into > Paper Space with Cropped View's content", the autotexts related to the Layout info are not shown. Instead they come up as: for example #LayID. We are using title blocks that are placed on the Master layout from a saved worksheet view.
This needs to be fixed, so that it shows correctly on export.
As this thread remains unsolved for more than 10 years, I believe there should be a wish to solve that: Autotext on Master Layout missings on DWG export - Graphisoft Community
It would be nice if the keynote tool allowed an option to include the text or the keynote tag. Similar to how the CI Keynote tool worked.
Dear Graphisoft Product Team,
I would like to submit a feature request regarding the Zone Tool in ArchiCAD.
Currently, the Zone Tool defines spatial boundaries primarily through wall recognition. While this is functional, it reflects a structural logic rather than an architectural one. In the philosophy of architecture, space is fundamentally defined by the floor — the ground plane is where human life begins, and enclosure follows from it.
From this perspective, I would like to propose the following:
→ Allow the Zone Tool to recognize and generate zone boundaries directly from a Slab's outline.
In practical terms, this would mean:
- Selecting a slab and automatically generating a Zone that inherits its boundary geometry
- Or allowing the Zone to stay linked to the slab boundary, updating dynamically when the slab is edited
Currently, the relationship exists in reverse — slabs can reference zones (via Related Zone fields introduced in AC24) — but zones cannot originate from slabs.
This feature would bring the Zone Tool closer to the true architectural concept of space: a vessel for life, rising from the ground. It would also create a more intuitive BIM workflow where space definition and floor definition are unified from the start.
Thank you for considering this request. ArchiCAD has always been the BIM tool most aligned with architectural thinking, and I believe this enhancement would deepen that quality further.
Best regards
2D fills using the Fill Category: Cover Fill do not count as actual Cover Fills...
I wish that I could use the surface painter tool on the edge of a roof after it has been split into single plane roofs.
May we please have as standard off the peg library part a semi recessed sink enabling multiple sink in a row, with a few sink styles? The alternative is to model it or create your own library part. For a lot of Archicad users I am sure an off the peg library part would be very useful.
I have the need to download a file from the BIMcloud several times a day. We don't use team projects much in our work, but one person produces several smaller project files as standard material.
For this reason, I would like to have a dedicated icon on the home screen to open or download from the BIMcloud without team project limitations.
Creating section/elevaion marker that one side can be different from the other can be done using "SYMB_MIRRORED". But when the section/elevation is set to "Marker Head in the Middle", Archicad draws the marker wih either SYMB_MIRRORED or not(SYMB_MIRRORED), not both. So, it'd be great for the GDL section/elevation marker to "know" which option is selected so the script could react accordingly.
Hello
Zones automatically extending into door and full height window recesses, is obscured by door/window fills. When I turn door/window fills off, the zone then shows in the recess, but also through the door frame. Can this be looked at please urgently?
I usually extend zones into recesses manually.
Many thanks
It would be nice if the context menu would be extended with an option to make a design option the default with 1 click. In the picture below all red elements are in an other design option then what is the default. Adding this functionality would make it faster to add new elements to the right option instantly.
Hi all,
When you change the Home Storey of a wall, the doors and windows associated with it should adjust their Anchor too if set to a reference a Storey.
eg. You have a wall linked GF-FF with a door / window in it anchored to GF. Changing the Home Storey of the wall to FF-SF, the door / window remains anchored to GF and hence is now floating in space. Unintuitive. If you so happen to have duplicated an existing wall before changing the Home Storey, you now have identical overlapping doors / windows which you might not even notice.
The current Workaround it to copy / cut and paste the wall in the Floorplan.
Ling.
It is impossible to show the part of a stair that's above the slab, but hide the part that is underneath it.
If you could choose to send the steps to front/back individually this would be solved.
Hi!
When we work share the project with the structural team, we have to mark the fixed point of the columns, from where they can grow: center, face or corner. Something like this:
If we use the rectangular column, we can use the anchor point to place them in Archicad, but if it's activated the symbol in OVM, it will always mark the center of the column... never real anchor point.
Now we are using a workaround: 3 complex profiles with the origin in those 3 points, combined with the only symbol that works properly (cross). But it's not so easy to use, because if you have columns placed and want to change the fixed point, you have to change complex profile, rotate, and dimmensions reset to the original ones.
So I think it would be useful:
- Symbol pointing to real anchor point of the column
- Another type of symbol, more visible. The cross line it's difficult to see sometimes. Maybe a circle, a rotated square...
Thanks!
Often at Tender stage contractors require all 'black & white hatch'. Could a standard be added to the Graphisoft template in renovation filters through graphic overrides and pen colours for all renovation states? This is often rush process. So companies should have this as a 'Template' which individual companies set up every year on a new release available to all staff, out of the box graphic override for sole practitioners or perhaps a talk on graphisoft learn and community channel to assist? Contractors comment they will not pay for coloured drawings which are twice the cost at Tender and Construction phases.
When breaking out or demolishing part walls traditionally on the board or 2D CAD there is a localised hatch at the breakout point not the whole wall. Can this be a feature added? This would be useful for black and white drawings to avoid colour drawings in tender or construction stages. Helping to identify wall break outs.
Text in lines.
Previously some years ago Archicad had the ability to add text in lines such as FW or SW. This can be added via 2D line work or some text not reading any data as it is a 2D line. Would anyone find this useful to identify new foul drainage or surface water drainage runs? Again back to a black and white drawing issue at tender, construction and Building control submission. Domestic clients don't want to pay for coloured plans for their extensions.
wishing for a way to find and select or highlight (on screen view options?) static dimensions in a given viewpoint
This wish is actually tied to Graphisoft ID, not a specific product.
It should be possible to log out of all sessions (products, websites) with a single click, so the next attempt to use software or website would actually prompt the user with the log in page.
Use cases:
I know you can release the license from anywhere, but if ArchiCAD is logged into your account, it will simply re-acquire license if it is marked as portable and there is no way of stopping it, short of removing license from the account or changing the license to not be portable. I know that for a fact because I've been using my license on three machines, not at the same time of course, two of which are my own, but the third is in a firm I work for as an outside consultant. It should be possible for me to log out remotely from everywhere if anything goes sideways.
I would like a way to batch relinking of drawings at once to different clones in the same file.
When I have to duplicate floorplan layout sets in big projects, I think it would be useful to select all the drawings (from the same clone) at once and relink all of them to another different clone from the file.
Now, if you select more than one drawing in the drawing manager, it only search for the same clone in the same or other files, but you cannot select a different clone. And you have to relink one by one...
In lieu of typing in custom dimensions to cover up minute fractional dimensions (whether due to sloppy drafting or odd geometry), it would be helpful to have a dimension-style override setting for a particular dimension label. I'd rather assign a dimension style that stops approximates to 1/4" increments to correct a rogue 1/64" of in inch rather than typing in a static dimension that might change.
A visual pen change for overridden dimensions would also be helpful with this functionality.
