Having the possibility to control the window dpi setting globally would allow for a more consistent workflow. This would allow controlling and setting the export quality of images from an Archicad window across all Archciad windows in a file.
At the moment, this can be achieved by setting the window size, which is a workaround, not a solution.
When making a layout index, it would be nice if there were an opportunity to view the layouts with multiple pages as one, possibly with the page count in parentheses as shown in the layout book.
Hi,
WISH: to have subkeynotes that you can add to the description of main keynotes
Before AC28 we used the project info to create labels for floorplans/sections/details, where 1 item of the project info would have multiple lines of text.
ex:
Wall exterior
-concrete wall
-insulation kingspan xx
-stucco
The problem is that you end up with multiple material descriptions that repeat themselves, and when you need to change them, you need to find and edit that text in multiple project info tabs.
Keynotes are way better than project info, but it would be nice if you could make sub-keynotes that one could add to a main keynote description.
Thanks
The problem to address:
We don't use SHX fonts in our office, However we do work with consultants that work exclusively in Autocad. We often need to insert their drawings into our plans for both coordination and final design development. Because the majority of our consultants use eastern languages in their drawing, They use SHX fonts in their drawings. When inserting their drawings into Archicad either as an external reference or an inserted drawing, Archicad requests the location of the Missing SHX font. This is a one time option. If the font is incorrectly mapped, or skipped, Archicad Caches this response for ALL TIME, and all future projects. Over the years, this can get to the point where no consultant drawing will ever import correctly.
I have been informed, multiple times to remove the reference, save and restart Archicad and reinsert the drawing to get the option to re-reference the SHX file. This is only works when dealing with SHX linetypes / linework. SHX Fonts do not trigger the same option for re-mapping.
The Idea for the Wishlist:
Ideal solution 1. A SHX manager where you can re-map the fonts or linetype/linework files in the cache.
Stop gap solution 2. A way to reset the cache so that all fonts get remapped (with the understanding that this will cause untold fun for older projects).
It would be great to be able to adjust 2D or 3D MVO for both existing and new doors/windows. As an example, we would like to set that all existing doors have a straight opening line vs a curved one for new doors.
Thank you!
So far a handful of Plumbing Elements (from the default Archicad 27 Library) are working well with the View's Floor Plan Cut Plan Floor Plan Range if we use the All Relevant Story Floor Plan Display settings and they are 1 story above.
The goal that we try to achieve is to have a MID-Floor Framing Plan View made from the Ground Floor Story so we can see the Doors and Windows from the Ground Floor and place the MID-Floor Framing Object or Beams on the First Floor with Show Home+1 Down. The Plumbing elements (sink, toilet, shower tray, drain etc.) in the Bathroom and the Internal Walls on the First Floor have the All Relevant Story Floor Plan Display.
In this case, we can set the MID-Floor Framing Plan View's Floor Plan Cut Plan Floor Plan Range to see above and the Relevant Items should show up. But not all of the Plumbing objects can do that. The Urinal 27 the Basin 27 and the wall are doing the job. But the Toilet and the Shower Tray don't do it.
The following Plumbing Objects from the default Archicad 27 library are working (green) and not working (red) in this scenario:
We need the 2d plan preview of doors and windows in schedules to be able to flip, so that their opening lines can correspond to the View from the Opening Side in the Windows/Doors Schedule.

Thank you for your great work!
It should be possible to with just one click override all surfaces of an element instead of going having to first override atleast two, then link surfaces and then override some more surfaces.
In previous Archicad version (24 or 25 I guess), it was possible to open the doors from Kitchen objects, but now in Archicad 27 it is impossible.
Why is that so ? it used to be an interesting feature, I don't understand why it doesn't exist anymore.
Will it be possible again ?
Best,
Gabriel
I would like the functionality of Redshift renderer to be improved. My two main wishes are:
Imagine, you have to constantly return to your entrance lobby in order to access any any any other spaces of your house ???
This is what Archicad forces you to do.
Unlike Revit, where , example, you can modify material, apparence etc, without having to exit the wall setting; in archicad, you have to go back to the main menu to do any foundational setting such as complex profile, material, etc.
We are in a mansion, and the only way to circulate between spaces is to walk back to the entrance lobby.
Odd design any user of this house would say (and soon they would hammer down some walls!).
And as users of archicad, we are forced to live with such oddity.
Good luck
It would be great if the Object Tool had a 2D symbol option baked in to the tool itself. When downloading objects and importing them from other file sources the 2D view sometimes look really bad. Opening the object and editing the 2D symbol works in some cases, but not always. Having a dedicated 2D symbol override where the user can draw the symbol by hand would be helpful. Extra points if it can be dependant on scale and/or MVO.
Thank you!
Hi,
We have projects where we need to model everything in great detail so the contractor can calculate the m2 of materials he needs. Example: m2 of plasterboard around an opening or m2 of a complex profile plate.
When you open a model in solibri the m2 is usually not accurate. I find myself having to model everything separately ( 2 walls + 1 slab) or adding formulas to properties to make the m2 +/- accurate.
It would be save a lot of time if one could define the perimeter that should be calculated for the m2 of the element. (red Line) inside the complex profile for instance.
If you have a wall with windows, doors, and openings and copy + paste it only comes with windows and doors
You have to select the openings together with the wall when doing copy in order to have in the new copy.
Please make the openings connected to the wall so we don't need to select them to have them in a copy
An existing window in the model should inherit certain properties when updated or modified such has casing option, colors, size.
For example you have a model with certain kind of windows but you want to change for another type you select them, pick another type and you have to re-edit everything : color of frame, of casing, dimension, size of windows, color of line .... This could just be taken as DEFAULT from EXISTING object. NOT object from library.
So fare this is the biggest waste of time when projecting with archicad.
Each hotlinked module has its own project origin. When a module is placed, its rotation and position can differ (greatly) from original module's origin. There should be a checkbox inside hotlink's properties that would force different elements of the module to still be oriented to the hotlink's origin, such as cover fills, but probably other elements of a model and drawing could benefit from this.
For example, if you have a module that is drawn in an orthogonal system with everything aligned to its origin, when you insert such a module in a new file and rotate it, its cover fills do not follow rotation and stay orthogonal. not only them, but also cut fills.
This behaviour should be optional for each module - sometimes it is feasible to modify fill's origin and rotation for the elements in a module to be custom, but often times it is not, and for some elements it is impossible because of other implications, such as fill orientations in section (if you define a fill in a building material as adhering to the element, and not project origin.)
Thank you!
Hi Graphisoft,
There is this limitation on the Railing tool where there can only be set to 2 handrails at maximum. What if I have more than 2 handrails? Additionally, the Rail End Curve functionality is only available for adjustment on the Toprail and Handrail components which it is missing for the normal Rail.
Team:
It would be very useful to have a setting that allows changing the default values for lines, line color, foreground, background, and fill type for elements. Similar to the “Model View Options” under “Miscellaneous Settings” for library parts, where the "Minimum Space of Objects" can be adjusted.
I would be nice you can rotate a section of an elavation in 3D. Now i'm using parallel 3D documents as a work around.
By example
- make a 2D projection of a pitch roof.
- 1:5 detail with source-marker of a fascia board
Select stuff and with one click override colours (preset needs to bet set...like red) and grey/di down the rest.
