Not possible to run more than 5 Archicad instances

i have the same issue with the home screen no longer responding.

I can have 4 projects open with no issue.

As soon as I go to launch a 5th instance of archicad, it hangs at the home screen and requires the process killed.

Been that way for AC26 / AC27 and now AC29.

AC24, I never experienced that limitation.

Wow, now that you mention it, the fifth instance might be the reason! I have a 4×project with hotlinks / modules and usually I have two or three instances open, but now that you've written this, it really seems to me that it might be exactly the fifth instance that's causing issues.

I would like the moderators (@GRAPHISOFT ) of this forum to move discussion above to be moved to separate threat since it is about a known DEF-24804.

At this moment, it is reccomended to start a new instance of Archicad via already running one with:

1. Command "New" or "Open"
2. Home screen (since AC28ú and launching one of the recent projects

As a workaround you can open your projects directly from explorer / finder. This skips the home screen.

AC25 doesn't have this issue either.

I reported this about a year ago to my reseller and as I recall GS was aware of the problem and it was supposed to be fixed. Anytime now?
