You have to make some changes to the parameters of the Elevator, I believe.
If you go to the Parameters panel of the Settings Dialog, under Stories, you will see the Lift Overrun parameter, which you should set to zero.

Or, you can turn OFF the Show Elevator Shaft parameter, which will not generate the walls of the Elevator shaft and you can draw them to be the height you need.

Well that is the elevator override, required for elevator to function.
However...
Use SEO to subtract with upwards extrusion
>Design >Solid Element Operations. Review the Help files if need be.
Make sure the operator (a slab..) is on a layer you can turn off after SEO.
OR
in the library part:
Set the override to 0
set the top slab thickness to 0
change the elevator cab height untill you get what you want.

On you profile page create a signature line with the Ac version and OS.

PS Ah ... Lazlo, beat me to it. Well SEO is another option.

review the AC Help files:
Virtual Building > Element Extras > Solid Element Operations > Solid Operation Types.

Pay attention to verify that the Operator panel reports at least
one stored object and the same goes for the Target panel.

The SEO results are usually not visible until you hide the Operator, so
always place the operator on a separate layer, maybe "SEO-Hide".

SEO makes more sense after you do it a few times, so play with the
options and look at the results.

Ali,
I can't help wondering why you want to cut down the wall height. The wall that is part of the Elevator Object is the elevator shaft and so should be vertically continuous.

Ali,
You can change the story heights in the Story Settings box, ctrl/cmd + 7,
The elevator object will automatically read the story heights here.
